According to a recent report, there are four specific issues facing automaker and supplier decision makers – and of course their engineers.
The headline findings of the 23rd-annual AlixPartners Global Automotive Outlook listed these issues as the key challenges facing the global automotive industry:
- Vehicle affordability and associated stagnating demand;
- A pull-back from globalisation – and thus the end of the global car;
- A blurring of the energy transition and a dialling back on specific powertrain mandating;
- The advent of the AI-defined vehicle (AI-DV).
